Model: Archer TBE550E
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: unknown

The product is not available in the model list.

My TP-Link Archer TPE550E Wifi 7 PCIe-Adapter only has an incredibly low 1 to 4 Mbit/s download speed, while the upload speed is hitting the estimated 1.5 Gbit/s. I checked with a different notebook if the download is generally that bad, but it ain't so. My laptop has nearly 1 Gbit/s download speed next to my computer. Drivers are up to date. Moving the antennas around did not help at all.

Operating system is Win 11 64

Thank you for your assistance.

Hello @Seravajan ,

Welcome to our community.

You mentioned that another laptop can access at normal speed. Have  you tested the adapter on a different laptop/desktop? Please ensure that the built-in network adapter of your laptop/desktop is disabled.

Please try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Check your link speed: Download speed typically ranges from 30-50% of the link speed between your adapter and router. Please check your adapter's link speed using this guide to determine if your current speed is normal: How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client

2. Try different frequency bands: 2.4 GHz speeds are generally slower than 5 GHz or 6 GHz. Since your adapter supports Wi-Fi 7, if your router also supports it, try connecting to the 5GHz or 6GHz Wi-Fi to see if speed improves.

3. Adjust wireless channel settings: Crowded wireless channels can slow Wi-Fi. Adjust your router settings to these recommended configurations:
   • 2.4GHz: Channels 1/6/11, 40MHz width
   • 5GHz: Channels 36/40/44/48, 80/160MHz width
   • 6GHz: Channels 1-61, 80/160/320MHz width

4. Reinstall the driver: Even though drivers are up to date, try completely uninstalling and reinstalling the latest driver.
