Model: Archer BE230
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.5

Hello TP-Link Community,

I have a question about the TP-Link Archer BE230 router on firmware version 1.2.5. Specifically, regarding the blue WAN port (2.5 Gbps) in Access Point (AP) mode:

My Question:

In AP mode, does the blue WAN port automatically work as a LAN port, just like the other LAN ports?

I've set it up in AP mode (connecting the main router's cable to a LAN port), but I want to know if the high-speed blue port can be used for wired devices.

Hardware version: [Please specify yours, e.g., V2.60]

Current firmware: 1.2.5

Can anyone confirm if yes or no? Any details from the official changelog, web interface screenshots, or hardware specs? TP-Link support insights would be great too!

Thanks!

@vaipsmelo I have a BE230 V2, what I did after setting it up as AP, I moved the cabel from the main router into the BE230 WAN port.

The WAN, (blue) port should be used as an uplink in case you use the device in AP mode.

If this was helpful click on the arrow pointing upward to make it blue. If this solves your issue, click the star to make it blue as a "Recommended Solution". BTC:149wubkkfoLmNDjDbiTxx4ZU8mpcMA5CJt
