Model : N600 TD-9980

Hardware Version : V1 00000000

Firmware Version : 0.6.0 1.12 v0021.0 Build 150507 Rel.40130n

ISP :

I just swapped out Cisco Linksys EA3500 wireless router for a TP-Link N600 TD-w9980 wireless router. As far as I know everything is working fine (DHCP reservations, routing, wireless, etc) except when I try transferring files to or from my Windows 2000 Server.

Some additional details: I have a base wirednetwork (192.168.25.1) which is managed by a SonicWALL firewall/router. The TD-W9980 gets its "WAN" access from the SonicWALL and is setup as 192.168.26.1. I'm using both the N and G bands. I'm not using the DSL modem part of the TD-9980.

From a wireless client (Windows 10) I can access all of the computers (both Windows 7/10 and Linux) on the wired network via Remote Desktop or Putty and I can transfer files to/from the wireless client to any of the wired computers, EXCEPT to my Windows 2000 Server. The wireless client can map a share to the Windows 2000 Sever, but when I try to transfer a file to it, it gives me a network error message that the network is unstable and the transfer has stopped. Repeating myself, this issue does not happen when transferring files to/from any of the other computers.

Finally, and most troubling, is that this issue did not happen with the Linksys EA3500 wireless router.

Ay ideas as to what is going on? And how to fix it?....RDK

Well, I guess no one out there has any ideas about the issue. Until I get an answer, I have put into service an old Linksys WRT54G box with which I can give wireless access to that server for those workstations that need it.

Basically this is an unacceptable solution, but a short term work around......RDK
