Hi all,

  I a have a Windows PC connected via ethernet cable to the M8550 router.

I have also a registered TPLink DDNS record xyzk.tplinkdns.com. My target is to access my PC via Remote Desktop from Internet.

I enabled a Virtual server working on port TCP 3389 towards the IP address assigned to my PC.

I have also disabled Windows defender under the Windows PC.

I provide xyzk.tplinkdns.com under the Remote desktop connection and after some seconds nothing happens.

There is no way to get this configuration working. I don't know if some configuration is missing.

Please provide some help, thanks

Enrico

  I am also unable to manage the router from remote even if I have enabled the service:

This product has also another boring issue. To use the DDNS credentials you need to login each time you boot the router. To be honest as a user I am asking: WHY???

  @Enrico_Emilio

Hi,
On the M8550's web UI > Advanced > Status, please check whether the Internet IP address is public. If not, it means there are NATs in front of the M8550, so you can't access the internal PC or the M8550's web UI remotely. You can contact your SIM card provider to see if they can assign a valid public IP address for your SIM card.
Best Regards

  @Solla-topee thanks for your reply.

You are true my ip address is private, I guess there are some extra fee to get a public IP.

I will search for a third party solution to reach my goal.
