Hello
Model Number: TP-LINK Archer D9
Hardware Version: Version 1
Firmware Version: 0.9.1 0.1 v0041.0 Build 150826 Rel.42046n
i have purchased archer d9 few days ago .. but when i connected to 5ghz network i noticed my link speed is just 173.3 Mbps ( on channel 36 to 48 ) & 400 Mbps ( on channel 149 to 161 ). why i never get 867 Mbps Link Speed .. im just sitting next to the router ( Signal Strength is -30 dBm) ? i have also tried to set fixed Channel and Channel Width to 80MHz but issue not resolved.. but noticed that .. when i set fixed channel to 36 somehow inSSIDer software shows it on channel 40 and when set to channel 149 inSSIDer software shows it on channel 161..
I would like to know if there is any way to fix 5Ghz issue or my archer d9 is defective ?

This problem with the D9 firmware has been previously identified. We are waiting for revised firmware.

Have just tested 160303. LED indicator problem is solved. WiFi channel control problem solved, except only 5GHz channels 36-48 are available. Issues remain with regional settings vs. WiFi channels, but perhaps that is too much to ask....... More work required by TP-Link, but at least this firmware is useable.

Hi,
Can you please elaborate on the Archer D9 firmware issues for me please. I'm new to the D9 and want to know whether to upgrade the firmware or not. I'm currently using Archer D9_V1_150514 as I saw Error (pkts) in newer firmware. Haven't tried 160303 as I can't downgrade if I don't like it.
I'm trying to amass some info so I can make an educated decision.
Finding searching the forums a little daunting and confusing.
Thanks in advance.

The Error display on the older firmware never worked, but it does work now on the newer firmware. The errors now displayed were most likely occurring before but not showing. Whether the new firmware is better or worse, I have not been able to determine due to other overriding bugs. We have removed the D9s from service until we obtain better firmware.

Thanks for the reply.
I'll hold fire again and browse the forums if and when a new firmware is released whether it is any better.

Looks like Firmware Build 160303 has been withdrawn from the site?
Hopefully a newer better one will follow soon.
Sticking with 150514 for now.

Firmware 160303 has reappeared. Is this different too the last one that was pulled?? I'm guessing not. But if it is has anyone tried it to see if it addresses any of the previous firmware problems?
I'm currently sticking with 150514.

I'm reliably informed by forum user Sparks that the firmware that has reappeared is identical to the previous 030316 that was puller by TP-Link.
Not sure whats going on but they really need to get their act together.
Spend more time fixing firmware and less on website rebranding please.
