Hi,
Has anyone done any sort of testing with the new firmware and if so what if any are the issues?
I have resisted upgrading as I wasn't too keen on the new UI and the previous firmware D9_v1_150826 seemed to see lots of Error (pkts) on the status screen. I downgraded back to D9_V1_150514 and these errors then disappeared again.
Given the new firmware will not let me downgrade I am interested to know what benefits I'll see from using it as apposed to D9_V1_150514 and whether or not the Error (pkts) issue also goes away.
Thanks in advance for any views/comments.
Regards
Radar

The Error reporting doesn't work in 150514. It does work in 150826. 160303 is still buggy. I'd wait for better firmware.

Current stats are these but others mentioned that the errors are not being reported in my firmware:
Upstream Downstream
Current Rate (Kbps) 1223 19895
Max Rate (Kbps) 1224 19800
SNR Margin (dB) 5.8 3
Line Attenuation (dB) 8.7 20.5
Errors (Pkts) 0 0

ur SNR is low .. would generate synch issue ... thats why you see errors in new firmware .... {i guess u get around 16mbps to 17mbps speed }.....
SNR Margin & Line Attenuation
Relative strength of the DSL signal to Noise ratio. 6dB is generally the lowest dB manufactures specify in order for the modem to be able to synch. In some instances interleaving can help raise the noise margin to an acceptable level. Generally speaking, as overall bandwidth increases, your signal to noise ratio decreases. So a customer that upgrades from 1.5 to 6.0 service will typically see a corresponding decrease in the signal to noise ratio. The higher the number the better for this measurement.
6dB or below is bad and will experience no synch or intermittent synch problems
7dB-10dB is fair but does not leave much room for variances in conditions
11dB-20dB is good with no synch problems
20dB-28dB is excellent
29dB or above is outstanding
Line Attenuation
Measure of how much the signal has degraded between the DSLAM and the modem. Maximum signal loss recommendation is usually about 60dB. One of the biggest factors affecting line attenuation is distance from the DSLAM. Generally speaking, bigger distances mean higher attenuation. The lower the dB the better for this measurement.
20dB and below is outstanding
20dB-30dB is excellent
30dB-40dB is very good
40dB-50dB is good
50dB-60dB is poor and may experience connectivity issues
60dB or above is bad and will experience connectivity issues
^^info is taken from dslreports :)

So from what you say the SNR is too low? How can I improve this and is it necessary if I'm not seeing any issues?
My line speed is usually around 17mbs which is correct for what I am paying for and what I expect.

... se utilizzi il protocollo Annex A/L/M prova questa versione più recente di quella installata sulla tua! https://www.tp-link.com/it/support/download/archer-d9/#Firmware
