Model: Archer BE550
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I recently switched my router from an Archer AX72 / AX5400 to an Archer BE550 / BE9300, but instead of an upgrade it feels like a downgrade. The connection drops and reconnects every 10–20 minutes, making it unstable and frustrating.

I’ve already tried updating to the latest firmware, changing the DNS server, and disabling Smart Connect, but the issue persists.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems with this model, and if so, how did you resolve them?

Hello @JulianKS ,

Welcome to our community.

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

ISP modem—BE550)))((( wireless clients

                          └──wired clients

(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

Is there a switch between the modem and BE550? If yes, please remove the switch for the comparison test.

You mentioned that your old router, the Archer AX72, works reliably when connected to the modem. Please try to do a Mac clone for the Archer BE550:

How do I configure MAC Address Clone on my TP-Link Archer Router?
