Archer VR2600 - Should I use same SSID for 2.5GHz and 5GHz WiFi?

I have just installed a new VR2600
Currently I have separate SSIDs for the 2.5GHz and 5GHz WiFi
Will devices switch between frequencies if I use the same SSID?
I assume devices that just support 2.5GHz would work OK?
Does this effect the MU-MIMO functionality in any way?
(there's nothing in the manual or FAQs related to this)
