No 4G MR6400

Hi all I recently bought a mr6400 as a cure to my rather slow internet problems. I can comfortably get a 4G signal with download speed of 40mb/s and upload of 20mb/s on my iPhone 6 in the exact same location as the router. After putting in a data sim from Vodafone, I initially chose to keep it to 3G with a comfortable 7mb/s download. I tried in the admin settings to push it to 4G and see what speed I could obtain but the router just sits with no signal. Any ideas? I get full 4G signal throughout the house but the router won't find it even after setting to 4G only in the network settings? Any help would be much appreciated.
