Archer VR200 - RFC4638 (Baby jumbo frames for PPPoE)

Hello!
I am using my Archer VR200 (Firmwareversion:0.8.0 0.5 v0053.0 Build 160122 Rel.41839n Hardwareversion:Archer VR200 v1 00000000) as a bridged modem.
While it is accepting an MTU of up to 1512 bytes on LAN, it seems, that the ptm's corresponding service (with vlan, so ptm2) is configured to 1500 per default.
Changing that value from the telnet console is obviously intended, but won't work as expected. The command gets accepted, but in the WEBGUI the name of the wan interface changes.
command:
TP-LINK(conf)#wan set service br_ptm_2_0 --protocol dynamicip --mtu 1512
cmd:SUCC
WAN:
I am not sure, that the ptm's MTU changed.
I'd like to check that on shell access, but don't know how that limited shell would let me do this.
I guess, that this is a firmware bug.
Unfortunately, the TP-Link website does not list the VR200 on it's support pages. I don't know whether there is new firmware and where to obtain it.
I also registered for the beta program in the hope of getting support.
A workaround could be to save the config, edit it and restore that altered file.
But the file seems to be encrypted. Decryption scripts on the internet seem to work, but there is something wrong on the xml's encoding.
Does TP-Link offer a config editor of some kind?
Thank you, best regards
epek
