Hardware Version :

Firmware Version : Firmware Version:0.1.0 0.9.1 v0069.0 Build 160525

ISP : Sky Broadband

I have just replaced my 102 sky fibre hub for a VR900 V2. However whilst the old sky hub gets a ping to bbc.co.uk (or 8.8.8.8) of 16ms the VR900 is constantly returning 800-1200 ms. Can anyone suggest why and what I need to do about it?

Hi,
Did you try reset the router to factory settings? Or you may try the new firmware on the website. http://uk.tp-link.com/download/Archer-VR900.html#Firmware

Hi Kevin,

I'd tried soft and factory resets to no avail. I hadn't seen the firmware upgrade (must have been looking in the wrong place) so will give that a go later today and report back.

I downloaded and installed the latest firmware and for 1-2 mins after reboot all looked well - but after those 2 mins it went back to pings of 800-1200 ms.

Thanks for pointing out the upgrade Kevin - from the wording on the website I had thought it was just a copy of the original firmware.

Ping Issue resolved

I have now managed to resolve the ping issue - it turned out to be an issue with a cloud syncing app on my NAS. I can't explain why the Sky router was not similarly affected, but at least the VR900 is now working well.
