Hi
I am not sure if this has been asked, I did a quick check but could not find any references or posts. My problem is that I have connected the Archer 2800 to my sky fibre direct and have it working; however every night it drops out until I reboot. The only way i found i could get it to work was using my fixed ip ( even though i have ticked the dynamic IP) and using the VDSL2 modulation settings.

As I said when it reboots everything works as it should, sky box, QNAP NAS, media server etc all port forwarding is good, it just knocks out every morning at around 01:00.
In the sys log I have the following:
---Recv no OFFER, DHCP Service unavailable
Then
---Send DISCOVER with request ip 0.0.0.0 and unicast flag 1
then
---
Recv OFFER from server 151.231.254.194 with ip 87.81.151.90
then
Send REQUEST to server 151.231.254.194 with request ip 87.81.151.90
followed by
----Recv ACK from server 151.231.254.194 with ip 87.81.151.90 lease time 3600
and then nothing
until 06:00
---Send NAK

any help appreciated

fixed ip? you mean the WAN ip from sky? it's a strange problem. do you install the latest firmware? do you set up any schedule or restriction rule on the router? the log was taken when it quit?

Hi
I thought I would update my own post, It turns out there has to be something other than the ISP handshake going on here. I had presumed ( wrongly) that all was well internally on the Lan, ( having not had time to check I asked another family member who was home at the time). well last night and this morning I am at home and up until 23:50 last night the wifi/Internet was working fine.
I awake this morning and its all gone, no internal network no internet, I can reach the router via wifi, so I connected a patch cable and I couldn't even connect via Lan. I knew it wasn't the laptop as I could still connect to two AP's I have running; I have had these running for a number of years previously so no concern there.

So it would appear that the Archer is locking up or freezing; Spend great £200 on a "Prime" device and it doesn't work
Anybody have a similar experience?

Self Update
well, things are not looking good for the Archer VR2800, wifi dropouts all the time even though WAN is good, cant even log onto the router without a reboot and then it is so slow.
Contacted support, who asked a few generic questions and now quiet. Plugged the original router back in and now back up and running, with no issues, sits not line or PC problem.
£200 on their top of the range modem/router and its not fit for purpose so far. At this stage I would say keep your money and buy perhaps a different make.
