WPA8630 (v1) Radius Problems

I am trying to setup a WPA8630P (v1) adapter to use a Freeradius server to authenticate wireless users. The Radius server has tested fine, but it just never sees any Radius requests coming from the 8630 adapter despite being on same LAN segment. Both adapter and Radius server can be PING'd ok. The 8630 adapter is listed in the CLIENTS.CONF file ,but as I say whilst viewing the live Radius logs, no requests are being seen by the Radius server.
What have I done wrong?
