Hey there,

maybe someone of you guy can help me, I have got an 50Mbit Internet connection at home and I wanted to get some faster internet upstairs wo I run an lan cable up there and installed the C50 AC1200  as an access point but at my ps4 I only get speeds around 10Mbit/s download with wifi and directly wired to the TP-Link. But without the TP-Link it gets much faster 40Mbit/s.

Now I am a little bit confused because my calculation was that the TP-Link has 100Mbit/s lan ports so that I can get up to 100Mbit/s up there.

Thanks for your help.

Need to point out one thing. Even though C50 has 100 Mbps LAN port, it doesn't mean the speed can be up to 100. Ultimately the speed is limited by your ISP. If you are only paying for 50 Mbps, maximum you can get is 50. It's not gonna be higher even if you use a 1000 Mbps router.

Now you are getting 10 which is not good. To figure out if the router is the source or not, connect the ps4 or computer directly to the LAN cable upstairs and test the speed. If it's still 10, then it's the cable or the uplink device.

If you are getting 50 Mbps, then problem should be on the router. You may also change cable. Do not set any QoS or bandwidth control on the router. Change the wireless channel.

Did you set it up properly as an access point only? Turned off dhcp, nat etc?
