Archer C7 v2 (CA) has wrong region firmware installed. How to fix?
My Archer c7 v2 (CA) router has the wrong region firmware installed.
It currently has version 3.15.3 Build 180114 Rel.39265n installed which I believe is the US version.
Everything is working ok but I want to fix this and upgrade to the latest CA firmware (Archer C7(CA)_V2_180305)
When I try, I get this error:
Error code: 18005 |
Upgrade unsuccessfully because the version of the upgraded file was incorrect. Please check the file name. |
The bottom of my router says Model: Archer C7(CA). How do I get the correct region firmware to install?

@Kevin_Z Hello I have what appears to be the same issue as the OP in which my archer c7 v2 was bought in Canada and possibly flashed with the wrong firmware by mistake as it has been upgraded since then. I have also tried some of the strategies used by the OP such as renaming the file in hopes of flashing the canadian version of the firmware but to no avail. I would also like to point out that the router is still functioning with what I assume may be the US firmware thus far, just that I get an error message when attempting to put the correct canadian firmware. My router info is as followed:
Model/Modele: Archer C7(CA) Ver: 2.0 (on bottom of router)
Firmware Version: 3.15.3 Build 180114 Rel.39265n (current firmware which looks to be US)
Hardware version: Archer C7 v2 00000000
Any assistance which could possibly help me get the correct Canadian firmware flashed would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Please verify the country version of your Archer C7 first.
If it is US version but with EU firmware installed, you can use the tftp firmware recovery to give it a go.
Best regards.

You can download the CA firmware from the CA official website and rename it as ArcherC7v2_tp_recovery.bin.
