Model: TL-MR6400
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: v2

I made a mistake and updated TL-MR6400 version 2 with version 1. How can i get it back to version 2? I have tried restoring to factory setting but i keep getting an error.

Hi,

The firmware must match the hardware version, otherwise it may damage the actual device.

If the MR6400 V2 works fine with firmware for V1, it is not suggested to flash it back to V2 due to potential loss.

Good day.

Hi,

Sorry to respond late.

It is not recommended to update the firmware back to V2 cause the router may be faulty and stops working completely.

Meanwhile, for your information, according to the warranty policy, we are unable to offer a replacement due to the wrong firmware upgrading.

Wish your understanding. Good day.

Hey mate it's quite easy you need to restore firmware using tftp recovery mode.

Here's a guide for you https://milankragujevic.com/restore-a-bricked-tp-link-router-with-tftp
