Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.4

I just bought Deco M5 and was quite dissapointed by its 5ghz performance.

2.4 Ghz band is disabled.

On 5 GHz band:

I usually get downlink ~200 mbps and uplink ~ 650 mbps (used speedtest and PassMark Netwoking test) across all my home devices.

Deco app gives me this speeds: ~500 mbps downlink and ~900 mbps uplink.

PC with waired connection to main router: ~ 850 mbps/~700 mbps.

My current setup looks like this (Both Deco in AP mode):

                                           Main Deco

                                                   |

                                                   | (ethernet)

ISP---ethernet(IPoE)---Router---|

                                                   | (ethernet)

                                                   |

                                          Slave Deco---PC

Tried setting up main deco in router mode, but the speed remained the same (wired connection <600 mbps)

Was it fixed in 1.2.8 or 1.3.0?

Is this a normal behaviour for M5?

Hi,

Below are some instructions you can follow up to locate the issue.

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2429/

Meanwhile, in router mode, you can disable fast roaming, setup QoS as standard and clear all the high priority items to give it a go.

If still the same, you can update the firmware to give it a go at first.

Any updates, please let me know.

Have a nice day.
