Hi All,

I purchased the afore mentioned Powerline Kit for a friend without realising that his home has an existing Powerline stepup that enables his home mesh network.

The current network was setup by the ISP when he upgraded his broadband plan, and he had no idea that his old PC would not be able to access the network via WiFi.

The solution I came up with was to purchase the TP-PA9020P Kit and now I am worried that the existing Powerline adapters provided by the ISP will be an issue for this solution.

Does anyone know if the Kit I bought will still be plug and play or there would be settings needed to get the two adapters connected?

*Note that i do not know the brand or models of the existing powerline adapters.

Many thanks!

Hi,

First, the TL-PA9020Pkit does not have wifi function either, the model begins with TL-WPAxxx supports wifi function.

Meanwhile, your friend can confirm what the standards the old powerline adapters use. FYI, the TL-PA9020Pkit supports Homeplug AV/ Homeplug AV2.If they compatible with each other, your friends can add them into the same network to give it a shot, but I have to say, if they are different manufacturers, we cannot ensure that they can work together or the performance.

Besides, it is easy to install the TP-Link powerline adapters, below is the instruction:

May it help and have a nice day.
