TL-WPA4220 slow on wifi
I have a TL-WPA4220 adapter.
If I use the Ethernet port it works fine (about 50 Mbps).
However, if I connect to it through wifi, it only achieves about 3 or 4 Mbps.
The wifi test was done with the notebook very close to the adapter, just disconnecting the ethernet cable.
The firmware version is TL-WPA4220(EU)_V1_170519, the last available for that version.
¿Is there anything I can change or verify?
Thank you,
Gustavo

Hi,
If all the devices connect to the wifi have the same slow wifi speed issue?
Please check the wireless link speed of your device which will affect the actual speed. Instruction as below:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2265/
Besides, you can change some wifi settings to optimize the performance.
Below is the instruction: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/398/ You can change the wifi channel and channel width.
May it work and have a nice day.

Hi, Kevin
Thank you for your recommendations.
All the devices that connect to the wifi have the same slow performance.
I tested it with two notebooks and an IPhone using a version of speedtest by Okla.
Besides, if I connect to the routers' wifi, not to the TL-wpa4220, I get about 40 or 50 Mbps as normal.
The speed shown as indicated in https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2265/ fluctuates between 20 and 80 Mbps.
I also tried every channel from 1 to 13 and the two channel widths with no differences.
I used the tp-link utility to monitor the devices. Sometimes it seems that the device disconnects and the utility says tha there is no one on the network.
After a few seconds it detects the device again.
¿Is there anything else I can verify?
Thank you,
Gustavo

Hi,
What is the light status of the powerline adapter when they disappear from the utility?
Have you ever tried to move them into the same room and test the performance?
For the adapter which connects to the main router directly, please ensure that the firmware is up to date; meanwhile you can disable power saving mode of it to give it a go.
Instruction as below:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2018/
Besides, when and where did you buy this powerline adapters?
Any updates, please let us know.

Hi Kevin,
Finally, I bought the TL-WPA8630P KIT AV1200 and it works perfectly.
I get more than 50 Mbps through wifi connection, so it solved my problem.
It is difficult to make more troubleshooting with the old TL-wpa4220 because I disconnected it.
Maybe the unit was faulty.
We can close this post.
Thank you very much,
Gustavo
