Hi,
Can you see the 5GHz network of the main router on your computer or cellphone?
With RE360 located 2-3 meters away from the main router, if it cannot detect the 5GHz network, please change the wireless settings of the main router's 5GHz to give it a go. Epseically the wireless channel and channel width.
Then please reconfigure it and test whether it works.
Note: If still does not work, please update the firmware to the latest one first.
Below is an instruction you can refer to:

May it help and have a nice day.

Hello all,
I have the same issue with my RE650
I already send it back for repair, but after still the same issue.
The RE650 finds my 5ghz Telenet host netwerk upon setup but after it, it loses the 5ghz connection
I changed all kind of settings on my Router but without luck.
All other devices have no issue connecting to my 5ghz host netwerk.
Who can help? ( the tp-link support also could not)

So the current issue is that the RE650 can connect to the 5GHz of main router but it will lose connection, right?
What is the led status of RE650 after you finished the configuration? Does 5GHz led come on?
What about it after it lost connection? Can you see the 5GHz network name after it stops working?
Does 2.4GHz and wired connection work properly?
What is the model number of your main router? And what is the hardware and firmware version?
Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.

1. it only sees my 5ghz host network during the setup process, never after.
2. the 5ghz led never turns on
3. I only see the 2.4ghz host network
4. yes 2.4ghz and wired work fine
5. Telenet eurodocsis 3.0, no idea about the Firmware of it.
How can the repeater see the 5ghz in the setup and not after?
also I can never finish the setup process, because after I push the finish button the status bar keeps turning forever....
The re650 has the 2019 Firmware, the latest.

What do you mean that the status bar keeps flashing after you hit finish?
Have you entered the wifi password of 5GHz to set it up?
Try to customize the wireless settings of 5GHz, like wireless channel and password.
Besides, you can give a call to the tech support of main router to verify whether the firmware is up to date.
Good day.

Hello, for wireless channel of 5GHz, you can use channel 36, 40 or 44.
And please take your time to test it, any updates, please keep us posted.

Hello, I just bought a RE650 and an having the same issue.... No 5G light on the device.
During initial setup the device could not see my 5G network, I knew the 5G was working as my laptop was connected to it directly from the wifi router (not via the TP LInk device). I tried the manual process to connect and it seems to of worked as I can connect to the 5G network on my phone now via the TP Link device. However the light on the device is still not on.
Makes me think I'm not actually connected to it, although it says I am??? Not 100% sure tho.
