Model: TL-SG1016D
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi,

First of all, excuse my poor english.

I need help to configure my switch

My lan is composed by a modem/router Huawei B525s-23a, my pc and 2 switches TL-SG1016D (unmanaged)

I have installed both the switches, one is actually turned off (in order to configure the first one and avoid a ip conflict) and the second one is connected to the modem (link indicator green and blinking) , also my pc is connected to the modem (by cable).

According to the installation manual my subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, my gateway ip is 192.168.0.2, and the pc ip is assigned by DHCP (range 192.168.0.100-192.168.0.200).

All I need is to configure my switch, but I can't connect to 192.168.0.1 (connection time out).

Do you have any idea about what is wrong?

Thanks,

Paolo

@PaoloM

The TL-SG1016D is unmanaged switch per you said, configuration is not required, instead, it is plug and play.

And you do not have to worry about the IP conflict issue, just connect them to the modem router to get internet.

Thank You. I could try to solve my problem just this morning and I found that the first iussue was a bad ethernet connector. I changet it and now everything work fine. However also the user manual lead me to a wrong way since it simply assert that the switch should be configured.

@PaoloM

Thanks for your feedback, glad to hear that you got it fixed finally.

Not sure what is the user manual you read, while for the TL-SG1016D, only the quick installation guide included, theoretically, it won't claim that the switch should be configured.

Anyway, for the unmanaged switch, no configuration needed, it is plug and play.

Wish you enjoy the internet with the TP-link switch.
