I have just bought the AX6000 to improve my small office and home network performance (LAN and Wifi).

I am using the archer d9 as a DSL modem and router and EAP 115 as a AP and a Dlink 24port switch (which I am upgrading to a Cisco 24 port 100 series GB switch, when it arrives)

I am awaiting for nbn to arrive in my street so in the meantime I want to use the D9 as a DSL modem and the AX6000 as router and wifi networking.

How do I do this so?

Hi, how does ISP provide NBN connection? Via DSL line or ethernet cable?

If it is the DSL line, please verify whether D9 is compatible cause it is an ADSL2+ modem router which cannot work with VDSL line. And the Archer D9 is a pure modem by default, you can hard reset it to make it work as a modem only.

Then you can connect  the AX6000 to it and set it up with the username and password given by ISP to make it access internet.

If it is the ethernet cable, you can use the AX6000 directly, for D9 you can use it as an access point/extender to boost the wifi signal.

May it help and have a good day.

Hello, if ISP still provide phone line(ADSL line) as NBN connection, you can connect it to  the Archer D9, and hard reset D9 which will work in bridge mode/ pure modem, then connect the LAN port to the WAN port of Archer AX6000 and set it up with the information given by ISP.

Note: The Archer D9 cannot work with VDSL line, if ISP provides VDSL line, you may need buy another VDSL modem.

You do not have to login to the web UI  to change it as a modem, it is a pure modem by default, so you only need to hard reset it.

Good day.

Re: Use Archer D9 as DSL Modem with New AX6000 as Wifi/Router

@Kevin_Z Thanks for the reply. My internet conntection (by Telstra) is an ADSL2+ and the D9 works perfectly at the momment as a modem/router via a phone line connected to the phone port on the D9 then is connected to the switch via a RJ45/LAN port (the WAN port is unsed). Thus far I have no NBN (but apparently is very close). So if I'm understanding what your are suggesting, I need to factory reset the D9 then connect one RJ45/LAN port (do I use the WAN port?) from the D9 to the WAN port of the AX6000. Then set up the internet PPPoA Telstra connection on the AX6000, note the D9. If this is the case I am unsure how do I set up the D9 in modem mode via the browaser interface - What is the process to follow in the D9 setup menu?? Many thanks..
