[REQUEST] Allow AP mode through Wifi
Please add the option to use TL-WA850RE (V6) as Acess Point when connected through Wireless for extra security in the next firmware update. Currently it requires ethernet cable.
Thank you

Hello, AP mode means that the extender need connect to the main router by wired cable.
If you want to connect the extender to the main router by wireless, you can configure it as a range extender which is designed to boost wifi signal.
Good day.

Yes, you are right. Both AP mode and range extender are used to boost wifi signal. While the connection type is different. In AP mode, the extender need connect to the main router by wired cable to extend wifi, on the other hand, it connects to the main router's wireless to boost wifi signal in range extender mode.
As you mentioned on the title-- "Allow AP mode through wifi", actually it is the same as range extender mode. So you can decide which operation mode you will use.
Besides, if it is impossible to run a cable, then configure the extender as the range extender mode.
Below is the instruction:

May it help and have a nice day.

What is the difference? Connecting through wifi or cable it should provide the same functionality as long as it can reach the internet to serve the devices connected to it. It's not possible for us to run a cable.

It would be great to use different credentials to connect devices like in AP mode. After some research i understand why ap is usually done by wire.
Thank you for your patience.
