Model: Archer A20
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 0.8.0 1.3 v0046.0 Build 170223 Rel.61663n

Hi all,

I purchased this magnific TP LINK Archer D50, but I need to use it as a simply AP (Access Point); the installed firmware installed, in the advanced tab, is the only the option:

"Wireless Router Mode", there isn't a "Access Point Mode", so in this mode i think this Archer assign IP address with his DHCP.

I already selected it, but anyway it is impossible to set, in static settings:

IP 192.168.1.11
SN 255.255.255.0
GW 192.168.1.1
and when I save the data on my Archer, i obtain:

"Error code:5708, WAN IP cannot be on the same subnet with the LAN IP."

I connect my Archer to the main router on the port LAN1 (if I connect it in port LAN4/WAN it is impossible to reach it).

Could anyone help me, perhaps helping many others too? Releasing a new firmware is impossible?

Thank you, bye

@DebianLorix

I know that, the web UI/operation modes may vary due to the different product.

Like I said, the Archer D50 does not have access point mode available to choose, but you can set it up manually.

You can refer to the faq417 attached on my last reply. The steps are the same even the web UI is different.

Hello, you can configure the Archer D50 as an access point mode manually.

From the error message, it is clearly that the LAN IP of the main router is 192.168.1.1, so you failed to save it.

Disconnect the Archer D50 from the main router first, and configure it as an access point. Once you finished the configuration, you can connect it back to the main router.

Instruction as below: https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/archer-d50/#video or https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1417/

Thanks Kevin for the reply,

I see... but the firmware of my D50 is actually showing the following tab (is different than that it appears in the video you linked):

That is the reason why I asked in this forum, if perhaps it's possible to have a little firmware upgrade...

That is great, glad to hear that you figured it out.

Now you can use it to boost the wifi signal.

If need more help, please let us know.

Best regards.
