Model: TL-WA850RE
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Latest

Hi,

For some reason, my TL-WA850RE V2 had been working fine for months, until recently, after a couple of hours of it no longer allows me to connect to the network. Every time I try, I get this (my TP-Link Extender's network name is "PICTOR"):

The same happens with my phone. When I try to connect, I get "Incorrect password for 'PICTOR'" even though the password is correct. The only way to fix it is to unplug and plug the router back in (i.e. restart), but after a few minutes/hours, it happens again. Has anyone experienced this? How can I fix this?

Thanks in advance.

@Coto

Have you ever tried to forget the network and reconnect  to the extender's wifi?

Do you have the same issue when trying to connect to the router's wifi?

When you failed to connect to the extender, can you get internet from it by wired cable?

Please ensure that the firmware is up to date.

And you can hard reset and reconfigure it to give it a shot.

Good day.

Yes, didn't work.

No, the router WiFi is connecting fine directly.

There is no Ethernet port on my TL-WA850RE.

It is up to date.

I have done that and the problem still persists every now and then.

@Coto

Thanks for your reply.

There should be an ethernet port on the TL-WA850RE. It is located on the bottom. If not, please double check the model number.

Besides, what is the model number of your phone and its OS version? Try to update it to the latest version.

Can you connect to the extender's wifi with other wireless devices?

Meanwhile, when and where did you buy this extender?
