Deco M1300 cannot upgrade using M5 firmware
hi, as far as I know is the Deco M5 v1 the same model as M1300 v1 ?
The problem being the latest firmware upgrades from M5 v1 are not recognized for M1300 v1. The app says no updates and if trying to manually upgrade via the browser it says success but it doesn't upgrade. The model drop down menu for manual firmware upgrade shows M1300 as model only.
Can you confirm that model M1300 v1 is the same as M5 v1 and if so why do you list them separately and why is a M1300 upgrade not possible using M5 firmware ?

Same issue for me, my M1300 does not accept the latest M5 1.4 or 1.4 2 release if I use the web gui with downloaded extracted bin-files...

Hello, the Deco M1300 and Deco M5 are similar but not the same; the software functions supported are the same, but they do not share the same firmware.
That is why you cannot upgrade the firmware for Deco M5 on your Deco M1300.
Besides, may I know why do you want to flash the M5 firmware? Is there any problems?
Good day.

@Kevin_Z thx for your answer, no there is no known problems with my M1300, I only look for bugg fixes & perhaps new functions.

@Kevin_Z Thanks for your reply, I see no current problems, but do always want to upgrade firmware for the latest functions and security. I recently returned a set of M9 plus v2 because its software functions were still very limited vs. the M5/M1300. Meaning I lost functionality that I already had before. The firmware update policy of TP-Link is unusual and confusing, i.e. M9 plus V1 has the latest firmware and functions, while M9 plus V2 doesn't yet.
The M1300 seems not available in many markets, please can you let us know how it is different to M5 and secondly if and when we can expect the latest M5 firmware to be available to M1300 too ?

I see, thanks for your reply. If the Deco m1300 works well, you do not have to upgrade the firmware.
You can keep an eye on Deco app for firmware updates.
Good day.

Thanks for your valued reply. The Deco M9 plus v1 and v2 have the different hardware ID, and they do not share the same firmware; while the new firmware for Deco M9 plus is on its way now; you can keep an eye on official website or Deco app for more updates.
As for the difference between Deco M5 and Deco M1300, their software functions are similar, while they have different hardware settings; and the Deco M1300 supports IOT function; And I'm afraid that the firmware for Deco M5 is not suitable for Deco M1300 due to the difference in hardware.
Good day.
