Model: RE200
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

My main router is at one end of my house and there's a cable connection to the other. If I plug my range extender into this cable it kills all the network traffic.

I'm assuming it's because it's listening to the router by both wifi and the cable so there's a loop.

Is there a way I can turn off the wifi connection to the router?

Thanks

Samo

@Samo

Thanks for your valued reply. It is glad to hear that you figured it out.

FYI, the RE200 is a range extender, usually, it needs to connect to the main router by wireless to boost wifi signal; if you want to connect it to the main router by a wired cable instead, you need switch it to an access point.

Now you can enjoy the internet through the extender.

Ok, sorted out. I'd missed the "connect to network" setting. Unchecked that after plugging the ethernet in and everything is fine
