Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 20171218

I bought this product 1 year ago, and everytime I used it my TP-Link couldn't connect to the 5Ghz signal after 1 or 2 hour and my connection became really slow. It's maybe because of my firmware. I tried to bring it closer to my router, to update my firmware (wihtout success because there is none for my model), but nothing worked.

Can you guys please help me ? It's getting really annoying and I can't even use my computer because of this

Hello, what is the led status of RE305 when it fails to connect to the 5GHz? 

 

Try to log into the web UI and show us a screenshot of the status page. 

 

What is the model number of the main router as well? 

 

Please update the firmware to the latest one and then take some time to test the performance.

I have exactly the same issue when trying to connect to a Ziggo router.

I have upgraded to the latest firmware (re305v3_eu-up-ver1-1-2-P1[20200212-rel67183]) and the issue is still the same.

Using only 2.4Ghz is unacceptable as it is slower than my original Ziggo router which uses 5Ghz properly.

Same here ... just got my RE305 and cannot connect to 5G,  2.4G connection is ok. Even updated firware to latest version Very disappointed!!

 

Extender : RE305 v3.0  firmware (1.1.2 build 20200212 REL 67183(6765)

Router:  SmartRG 515AC
