@Oopsie

Just an update on this issue, I found that after installing a windows update I am now able to create a 5Ghz Wi-Fi Hotspot.

Thanks Microsoft :(

@Kathy_Z

Hi Kathy,

I'm having the same issue where if I try to create a 5GHZ WiFi hotspot I get the following error:

"The selected network band isn't available. Select a different band and try again."

This is the adapter I'm using:

https://www.tp-link.com/za/home-networking/pci-adapter/archer-tx3000e/

I have tried:

- Switching the adapter's preferred network to 5GHZ

- Creating the hotspot via CMD

- Reinstalling the driver

- Installing an older version of the driver

- Resetting my network settings

- Connecting to another 5ghz network before creating the hotspot as reccomended by this article:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000029083/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html

- Connecting using WiFi Direct as reccomended by this article:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000023257/network-and-i-o/wireless.html

Unfortunately nothing has worked for me.

The reason I would like to create a Hotspot from My PC is so that I can connect a VR headset to the PC wirelessly without routing through the router.

For this use case, 2.4Ghz is too slow.

I'm pretty dissapointed as the creation of 5.8Ghz hotspots is the reason I bought this adapter.

this Reddit user was able to create the 5.8 Ghz hotspot with the same AX200 card from intel (which is what the TX3000e uses)

https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/ezka7x/cannot_enable_intel_ax200_5ghz_hotspot/

However I have not been able to create the hotspot with the same method.

Is this an issue of being region locked?

Is there anythng else I can try?
