RE650 AC2600 Wifi Extender is not connecting to 5Ghz Band
Hello,
I have purchased TP Link RE 650 AC2600 Wifi Extender few days ago and on the extender only 2.4GHz light is on and it never shows light on on my 5GHz and unable to detect 5GHz wireless network of my root router (Tenda AC15 1900Mbps Wifi router). I tried changing the 5GHz Wifi channels on my root router to 149, 153, 157 & 161 (these are only available) and still Extender is unable to detect 5GHz from my root router.
Can you please help me how can I get TP Link RE650 Extender to get connected to 5GHz band from my root router.
My Tenda AC15 1900Mbps is already updated to latest firmversion i.e. "V15.03.05.18_multi" still no use.
Is there a way to access 5GHz band as 2.4GHz band is not usefull.
I am having a 200Mbps broadband connection. My Tenda AC15 1900Mbps router is installed in a room. When I access the Internet from a hall (10 meters away), I am getting the speed of 80Mbps to 100Mbps and that is why I purchased this TP Link RE650 Extender thinking that it will extend the wifi coverage, however when I connect through TP Link RE650 Extender on 2.4GHz band the speed is significantly dropped to 20Mbps to 25Mbps, it doesn't make any sence. This extender is more expensive than my Root router.
Can someone please assist me on enabling 5GHz on my TP Link RE650 AC2600 Extender?
