Model: TL-WR840N
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version: 0.9.1.4.16 v0001.0 Build 180614 Rel.40494n

Good Day, Everyone.

I would like help with something regarding TL-WR840N's range extender function.

I am using the TL-WR840N to connect my two wire-only PCs to a wireless network. My main internet access is from a fiber optic cable to a pon moden from my ISP. When connected to that the TL-WR840N functions normally and my PC can access the internet.

Sometimes people using the network will eatup the available bandwidth, or other outages; I will sometimes have to switch to my 4G LTE internet access to continue my work. When I am connecting the TL-WR840N to my pocket wifi Huawei E5573C using WR80N's range extender function, it will show as connected to the device but do not have internet connection. I tried the same with an Android mobile hotspot but while the devices connect, internet connection is not seen.

Is this a limitation of the TL-WR840N or is there something I can do to making it connect to mobile hotspots?

I appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Regards,

Waveform

@Waveform

Hello,

It is not suggested to use the WDS feature to extend 4G connections as there might be compatibility issues, which is also not tested by our developers.
