I´ll try again - TL-WA850RE - (and similar) can this unit be connected via the TP PLC Setup, just like Power Line?

@zeehaus

Hi, for your issue, please take the below answer.

TL-WA850RE and Powerline device are different.

TL-WA850RE is range extender which connect the router by wireless connection and extend the Wi-Fi signal.

Powerline devices communicate via power line in your house.

One adapter is used as adapter which is connected to the main router by cable, the other units are used as extenders which get internet signal from the adapter to provide internet for your wireless/wired devices.

The extender setup and Powerline devices setup are also different.

The front one, you can use Tether or Web GUI to set it up. You can follow the instruction https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1411/

The seond one, you can use tpPLC Utility or pair button to set it up.

They are totally different device. The extender can't be setup via tpPLc Utility.

Hope it can help you.

Have a nice day!
