Model: TL-WR940N
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version: 6.8

Greetings,

I have TP-link TL-WR940N router that was working fine.

One day it just stopt working and light is now blinking. For 4 seconds it stays on blue and 1 second on orange.

And I don't see the routers wifi names on my phone nor my laptop.

I only changed some configurations, changed SSID, enabled guest wifi and changed the passwords. I did no firmware update.

I have searched the internet but can't find anything.

Hopefully someone can help me.

Hello,

If that is the case, you may need to contact the local tech support to check the warranty cause the device seems faulty.

@Paul_TP-69.

It is suggested to reset the router to its factory defaults and set it up again:

How to reset TP-Link router to factory defaults

What should I do if I cannot access the internet through Wi-Fi router?

Thanks.

@Kevin_Z

I had already tried to factory reset the router before posting my question here.

To be sure I tried it again yesterday, because I wasn't sure if I really pressed the reset button for 10 seconds like explained in the steps of your link.

Turned it on yesterday and the light wasn't blinking orange and blue anymore instead it was only orange with no blinking.

I tried searching for the ssid on my devices couldn't find it. Tried to factory reset again this time I kept it pressed for 20 seconds.

Light was still orange. After I tried connecting with network cable and noticed my laptop wasn't getting a valid ip and default gateway was blank.

Hopefully this will give you a better idea of my problem.
