wiring Deco M4 in AP mode
Hi Everyone,
I just purchased a Deco M4 3 pack.
- Since I already have a modem+router unit, I want all the Deco units in AP mode
- In AP mode, can i connect all the Deco units to a switch as shown in the diagram below ? Is this possible ?
- Will I still be able to use just 1 SSID and will fast roaming work ?
Thanks...

@ben_sikat yes, I use approximately the same configuration at home. The main Microtik router is used for DHCP, Nat etc and three Decos M4 in AP mode for WiFi. All M4 are connected to the main router by eth directly or through the switch. If you have wifi on your main router - disable it. All Decos form one mesh WiFi network... The only thing to remember - try to use Gbit router/switches to get maximum speed from your WiFi ))

@RedRoger Hi RedRoger, Thanks for the reply. Just want to ask, have you tested that kind of setup ? I am new to TP link wifi so I do not know how it behaves. Thanks

@RedRoger Thanks .
At least now i have the a definite answer. Initially i asked online support about this and to my suprise the tech mentioned this was not possible. Then the tech just kept giving me links which did not really answer my question. Thanks again for taking time to reply to my query.
