Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.4.2

We have been waiting for this promised 2.4ghz and 5ghz band separation (i.e.,  2 SSID's) firmware update for Deco M4 for long.

The smart speakers connect to one band (e.g., 5ghz) while the phone (e.g., 2.4ghz) connects to the another under 1 SSID. Therefore the  app on the phone struggles to find the smart speaker.

Is there any update on the promised firmware rollout? What is the workaround for the time being to ensure that the phone finds the smart speakers consistently?

Hello,

Sorry for the long waiting, this feature you requested has been forwarded to the developers but they need to evaluate the feasibility on the Deco system, which will take some time, we hope you could wait patiently for future updates.

As a current workaround, you may enable the Guest Network for 2.4GHz and connect the smart speaker to the guest network, while only leaving the main network for 5GHz connection. You may give this a shot and let us know if that helps.

Thanks a lot.

If the Deco M4R router is right next to the TV and the soundbar and I connect those to guest network will the speed of the soundbar connection not suffer or should I make that a high priority device for all time?
