I have been trying to install the ezviz LC1C wifi camera and floodlight to my network.  The ezviz app detects the 2.4 Ghz network, however the camera will not connect to the network no matter what I try.   As a test, I disable the 2.4Ghz network created by the TPLink deco and enabled the 2.4Ghz wireless network on my BT Home Hub. The ezviz app detected the 2.4Ghz wireless network created by the BT Home Hub and the camera was able to connect to this network.

 

Is there a possible fix to the TP Link deco M4 to allow for the ezviz cameras to connect to the 2.4ghz network broadcast from the deco

Below are some troubleshooting suggestions for your reference if the ezviz LC1C wifi camera cannot connect to the Deco network:

Just to verify, Deco provides both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks with the same network name and there is no setting to set different names. It is suggested to disable the 5GHz temporarily and add your camera to the 2.4GHz first.

@Jamesyk Did you disable the 5Ghz network on the TPLink when trying to get the camera to connect?

@richpriest the 2.4ghz is a separate network (ssid) from the 5ghz network. Surely I shouldn't have to disable this to allow connection ?

 

 

Seriously  considering  getting rid of the decos as I have had nothing but bother with them.  Still have an issue with my wife's phone not being able to connect to wifi

I maybe didn't word it correctly but I have the 2.4ghz running on the guest network with a separate SSID and the 5ghz network running on a different SSID. it is possible in my Deco setup. I did also totally disable the 5ghz network but same result

Hi, thanks a lot for the details. That sounds reasonable now.

 

Is your Deco M4R working as a router or access point mode? It is suggested to disable the 5GHz main network on the Deco temporarily and enable the 2.4GHz main network, connect your ezviz cameras again, NOT to the guest this time.

 

Ensure the camera firmware as well as the camera app are up-to-date. If that still fails, please confirm if this ezviz camera can connect to any other wireless network, is there any special requirement or setting for the network?

Yeah tried all of that but wouldn't connect. I had to enable the WiFi 2.4ghz on my bt smart hub and ensure that it was in wireless mode 3 (improves compatibility with wireless devices) in my hub admin setup. It connects fine to the bt smart hub 2.4ghz ssid

I had same issues connecting a Ezviz CW3 with the M4R.. Disable 5Ghz and also disable Fast Roaming IEEE 802.11r seems to work. After registering the camera you can enable 5Ghz but when enabling IEEE 802.11r it fails again so you have to disable IEEE 802.11r to keep the cam connected
