Hi,

 

trying to set port forwarding on my new Deco X20.

 

Following the instruction, I am able to set the external port, I can select the IP adress to forward to, say 192.168.1.150

However, after saving these settings and going back from the menu, going back to check the configuration, the IP adress has changed to 192.168.0.150

 

This does me no good or am I just not getting this?

Hello, may I have the LAN IP settings on your Deco app for your network, is it 192.168.1.1 and subnet is 255.255.255.0? Kindly show me the screenshot, thanks.

 

Please ensure that the IP address of that local server is in the Deco IP range.

yes, My LAN IP setting is 192.168.1.1, subnet 255.255.255.0

The IP I want to port forward to is in fact 192.168.1.150.

 

These are my router settings for LAN and DHCP:

Please try to do an Address Reservation for that specific IP 1.150 on the Deco, then try again.

Thanks, It's been reserved all the time, should have mentioned that. 

 

Tried forwarding to other reserved IPs with exactly same result, the deco set the ip to x.x.0.x

Hello, sorry to respond late.

 

May I know how many devices are in the Deco LAN? It seems the IP range is quite large, do you need all of them? 

 

If there are actually no that many clients in the local network, it is suggested to change the IP range smaller and try again.

 

BTW, where is the 192.168.0.X subnet in your network? What is the network layout?

The IP range was default by the system.

Currently there are about 30 IPs assigned.

 

I can reduce the range without issues just to give it a try, but cannot see how that should force a change the IP in port forwarding.

 

I do not have a x.x.0.x subnet.  My layout is the Deco router with two satellites in a Mesh operating on the 192.1681.x.x address range.

What if you set an address reservation for that 192.168.1.150 device to 192.168.0.150? 

 

An easier way, set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 instead of 255.255.252.0.

can't see me changing the IP address to x.x.0.150 will address the issue.

I have tried port forwarding to other addresses as well, same result, and I'm not having the router dictate this matter.

 

The router software should accept my inputs, unless it's actaully invalid, in this respect.

So for me this feature is useless as it currently is and not as specified by the manufacturer.

 

BTW, 255.255.225.0 is invalid as subnet.

Hi, thanks for the update again.

 

We understand that the issue is that Deco failed to get the correct port forwarding commands, the reason why we are suggesting here is that there are no such many devices in the Deco network and it is not necessary to set the subnet to 255.255.252.0, we can set it to 255.255.255.0 (sorry for my previous typo) and the port forwarding should be working, our developers will solve the issue you reported later in the new firmware update.

@TP-Link_Deco Is there any progress in having this solved with a firmware upgrade ?
I really need the Deco to do correct port forwarding. I would expect such a bug could be solved quickly by your developer team ?

I can't skip my subnets so I need to be able to keep the 255.255.252.0 mask AND have port forwarding available to subnets.

 

Any feedback about timing pls ?
