Model: Deco P7
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi,

I am moving in a new house that has 2 separate areas separated by a thick wall that doesn't let wifi through.

I thought of using my deco p7 to carry the network over the power lines, but it seems that the house has 2 separate power circuits as well, so the 2 areas are completely independant powerwise.

I was wondering if I could use 2 deco devices connected over ethernet to bring the network from one area to the other.

It would look like this:

 (cable)
    |
cable modem
    |
    | (ethernet)
    |
main deco
    |
    | (power line 1)
    |
 2nd deco
    |
    | (ethernet)
====|============== < big wall and power separation
    |
 3rd deco
    |
    | (power line 2)
    |
 4th deco

Would that work?

Thanks

Hello, the layout you described is OK, the 3rd Deco P7 can build up an Ethernet backhaul with the 2nd node, while as timp78 mentioned, Deco P7 has been disconnected, so you may not be able to purchase it now. You may check if Deco P9 is acceptable then.

P7 is EOL so probably isn't supported anymore.
