TP link archer ax3000/ax50 loses internet connection but my modem is not
My wifi router randomly loses its connection. After using it for almost 3weeks the router shows its flaws as the router loses connection, the cables are well plugged into the WAN port but it suddenly loses connection after a couple of hours. I have to reboot the router over and over again. My tethering app shows that the connection has been disconnected even my modem is connected to the internet. I have read a lot of troubleshooting and nothing seems to work.

Hello,
Try setting your router primary and secondary DNS
Google dns 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
or
Cloudflare dns 1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1
I use cloudflare dns with malicious and adult content filtering. 1.1.1.3, 1.0.0.3
Hope this would help you.
Good day.

Why would this cause the router to lose connection to the modem? The modem maintains (and delivers) a signal, but the router loses the connection at least once daily.

@Reian seriously, sell it and get a different router. I did, and zero issues since. No help from TP Link on this :/

Hello, thanks for asking again.
Have you tried my previous suggestions? Also, mac13 suggested changing the DNS server on the AX50 which may help in some cases, please give it a go and verify more details as requested in my previous posts, thanks.

Hi,
I'm having this problem since I've bought it: 1, max 2 hours of internet then the LED goes yellow and internet disappears!
I've already tried to use cloudflare dns with malicious and adult content filtering. 1.1.1.3, 1.0.0.3 per @mac13 suggestion, in the context of Manual IP: 192.168.1.254, GW 192.168.1.1 (Vodafone Station which shows no connection loss -- NEVER!), netmask 255.255.255.0. Then I've put the AX50 MAC address in the IPv4 setting of the Vodafone Station to reserve the 254 address for it. But the Internet LED stays YELLOW!
Model: Archer AX50
Firmware: 1.0.9 Build 20200708 rel.55037
Hardware: Archer AX50 v1.0
Please advise!
Thanks
Adalberto

Thanks Yonghee's suggestions, glad to hear that the Deco M5 network is stable.
@adaca While we can try to figure out if this is the AX50 issue in your environment first.
Is your ISP Vodafone? Is it providing a Dynamic IP connection or Static IP? You may check that by simply connecting your main computer to the Vodafone modem directly, then check the IP address on the computer. Ensure the internet connection is stable.
If Vodafone provides you a Dynamic connection, please change the WAN connection type on the AX50 back to dynamic, then try to do the MAC clone on it when connecting your main computer to its LAN port.
It is also suggested trying with different cat5e or cat6 cables between the modem and the AX50.
Please confirm how would the connection recover, do you need to re-build the WAN connection or just restart the AX50?
If the issue happened again, please save and send us the system log on the AX50, don't restart the AX50, otherwise, there will be no useful logs.
Thanks a lot.
