Model: Archer C6
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.3.6 EU

Archer C6 V2

1.3.6 Build 20200902 rel.65591(4555)

Hello,

found a strange thing since some weeks, after 1 or half days all my devices connected to 2.4ghz seen disconnected from network.

Check in C6 web interface and can't see all my 2.4ghz devices.

I don't use the smart connect functionality.

To recover i just need to make one change or disable/enable and save, then all devices seen connected again.

Found a post where it's mentioned to set some parameters as fixed one instead of auto, like channel, channel width, encryption.

I have try do fix the channel, channel width or encryption, but unfortunately this occur again.

1/ Found on this thread : https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/165494 a dev firmware, but as mine is most recent, does mine include the patch/workaround for this issue ?

2/ if it's include in latest EU firmware, mine is 1.3.6 Build 20200902 rel.65591(4555), do you planned to correct this issue in a near future ?

3/ do you have a workaround in waiting for a corrected firmware ?

Thanks

Hello, try installing the beta firmware we provided in the below thread on the Archer C6 router, then disable Onemesh feature, test and monitor the 2.4G connectivity again:

Hello, thanks for reporting the issue to the community, and sorry that it takes long to locate the 2.4GHz disconnection issue on the Archer C6. For your specific issue, can I have more details then our engineers can try to investigate further?

1. Only the 2.4GHz wireless is unstable, 5GHz, and wired connections are working just fine?

2. How many devices are connected to the 2.4GHz network, what are they? Are all wireless devices connected to the 2.4GHz experiencing the same dropout or just some special or old clients? When they got disconnected, is the wireless network of the Archer C6 still broadcasting or the wireless network is no longer available on all other devices as well?

If the devices are still connected to the 2.4GHz network but no internet access, please confirm if the devices can still get a correct IP address from C6, what is the IP address? Can you ping the C6 gateway and internet?

If the devices disconnected from the 2.4GHz and cannot connect back, what is the error message?

3. Do you mean you need to disable/enable the 2.4GHz wireless on the C6, then it will reconnect?

Thank you very much for your patience again~

@Kevin_Z

here is more infos :

1. Only the 2.4GHz wireless is unstable, 5GHz, and wired connections are working just fine?

Yes all 5Ghz working fine, wired also

I have 10 devices connected to the 2.4Ghz, 7 are wireless electrical switches like Sonoff and Meross, 1 is a TCL Tv, 1 is a Laptop, 1 is a Tp-Link repeater RE305 V3.0 1.0.1 Build 20190221, The 2.4Ghz seems broadcasted as the network is available.

If the devices are still connected to the 2.4GHz network but no internet access, please confirm if the devices can still get a correct IP address from C6, what is the IP address? Can you ping the C6 gateway and internet?

No connection here

If the devices disconnected from the 2.4GHz and cannot connect back, what is the error message?

but if i try to connect to it from my Iphone with the 2.4Ghz i get a message "unable to connect" despite of the availability of the network in the list. All devices can't connect to it all at same time.

3. Do you mean you need to disable/enable the 2.4GHz wireless on the C6, then it will reconnect?

Yes, i un-tick the "enable radio" on 2.4Ghz, but i can also make a change on the security from auto to AES or make a change on a channel settings, then, when i save the change, all devices connect again

Hope this help to debug and have a code update quickly wink

Hello, any news ?

As i can't stay like that and the return process for my product is near to expire, i need to know if a solution or workaround can be found quickly.

In case if it have no near solution, i will return my C6 to have another product that work as expected.

Thanks

@Hotport

Hi, can you please help confirm all the detailed info as I asked marcotwin34 before, then we can take further steps? Ensure you are running the latest firmware on the C6.

BTW, is the C6 working as a router or access point?

Good day.

@Kevin_Z

Hi Kevin,

I have exactly the same problems as reported by marcotwin34 and others. Only 2.4ghz drops for all device. 5ghz and wired keeps working fine.

Are there already any solutions available?

Archer C6 V2 1.3.6. works as a router.

Thanks,

Corado
