I have an existing TP-Link ARCHER C6  w/c is connected to RE305 extender.
I bought another extender RE205 & I want to connect RE205 to RE305 extender.

Pls. assist & provide procedure to connect this using TETHER APP.

@Benny010

Good day,

Thanks a lot for your time and patience.

The configuration is almost the same for connecting to the router and extender.

All we need to do is to follow the quick setup guide.

And it would be better to name the SSID of RE305 to be different from the home router and RE205 to be different as well.

How to set up RE via Tether APP: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1373/

Thank you very much.

@Solla-topee ,

For the set-up of RouterC6->RE305->RE205 one mesh,

I followed the procedure ...renaming to _ext & back to the name of the RouterC6.

However, I wonder why the Host Network of the RE205 is still the mac address of RouterC6, I thought it will change to the mac address of RE305.

Also, I wonder when I check the One Mesh (at Tool Menu) RE205 is OFF, RE305 is ON & RouterC6 is a different GUI now.

Am I on the desired connectivity of  RouterC6->RE305->RE205 one mesh?

@Benny010

Good day,

If the RE205 is connected to the RE305, not the Archer C6, on the C6, there would only be OneMesh extender, which is RE305.

So if you set up like: RE205<---Wi-Fi—---Archer C6—------Wi-Fi--> RE305, both extenders would be detected as OneMesh clients;

As for the host mac address, do you mean even though the RE305 was chosen as the host network for RE205, the MAC address is still the same as C6?

Can I have some pictures?

Thank you very much.

@Solla-topee ,

See below Mac address of RE 305 & RE205... and also the One Mesh of C6 w/c has 2 RE's.

I'm near @ RE205 location connected to WIFI name of C6... so basically connected to RE205...
