From "static ip" to "auto ip" in TP-LINK W8961N
Hi,
I am in this situation:
I want to change "Google-Home-Min" from "Static" to "Auto"
When I save, I have: ERROR: FAIL TO UPDATE! Illegal IP Address!
Why? How can I change from "static" to "auto"?

Does it force you to select an IP address or can you leave the "IP Address" field blank and only select a MAC Address and set Status to "Auto"?

When I select a MAC address from the list, the router set the IP client, automatically (this client has a static ip, in according thisMacAddress - - > thisIPaddress).
There isn't a "empty option" for IP list...

Have you got any info?

As you haven't got any response from a TP-Link person, it could mean there is no easy solution to the problem.
If it's all-important that you get "Google-Home-Min" set to Auto, then you could of course go through the trouble of resetting the router to Factory Defaults and then configure everything again.
Alternatively you could try if changing the router's LAN IP address to a different subnet (e.g. 192.168.2.1), click [SAVE] and then change it back to your original LAN IP again (192.168.1.x) clears the DHCP table, allowing you to set the devices you want to have static IP addresses to "Static" again while leaving others like "Google-Home-Min" at "Auto".
