Hi community,

I would like to know if anyone has tried or has a solution to extend the usb cable of the Wifi adapter model TL-WN822N ?

I recently bought an extension usb 2.0 cable and tried to connect it with my PC but unfortunately the wifi adaptor didnt work!

Why is my cable not working with the adapter ? Is there something I should know?

Thank you

Best regards

Hello, may I know how long is this extension usb 2.0 cable? As far as I know there is already a 1.5 meter USB cable provided in the package, is this not long enough?

BTW, is there a model for this extension usb 2.0 cable? Or can I have the online link?

Thanks.

They provide a cable which is 1.5m but its not enough for me as I would like to put it away at least for 10m, I tried with a usb 2.0 extension cable of 5M and it didnt work. So I dont know if there is some kind of protection in order to use the usb cable of tp-link only. I need someone technical to answer I guess.

Cable I used:

Band : Havit Features : - - Compatible with USB 1.1 & USB 2.0 - Colour coded connectors blue - Shielded reduces interference for high-speed, error-free - Trasnfer Rates Up to 480 Mbps, depending on the USB version - High Speed USB 2.0 A male / A female cable - Cable length: 5M

Hello, thanks a lot for your detailed info and reply.

While we don't think 5 m USB2.0 extension cable is a good choice for the wireless adapter, 5 m may be too long, and this also largely depends on the cable quality. So if it doesn't work, then it is, we can do nothing about it, sorry about that. Why not moving the PC and the wireless router closer to each other?

@Kevin_Z

I want to keep the adaptor signal far away from the PC, thats the whole point.

I dont want to have a concentration of wifi signasl in the room.

The quality of the cable is good, check the pictures and the specifications.

Is there a possibility to produce an extension USB cable for that adaptor ?

Thanks
