Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.3 Build 20200918 Rel. 74289

I set up a print server using OpenWRT on TL-WR842ND. Connecting a PC directly to that server through WiFI or directly through ethernet cable works perfectly (PC --- PrintServer).

But when I connect this print server to slave M4 unit via ethernet cable and having it displayed on http://tplinkdeco.net/ in Network Map (with proper name and IP address etc.), I can't reach it via web interface (when openning 192.168.68.104 in browser, I'm getting ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED). It's still responding to ping though.

Has anyone experienced similar issue?

@jacaa

Hi,

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Could you please help me confirm the following information:

1. PC----<wireless and Ethernet >--TL-WR842ND(Pinter server)--printer, no problem to access the printer;

2. M4(main)---<wireless or Ethernet ?> salve M4----TL-WR842ND(Pinter server)—printer, PC could not access the printer, right?

----How is the slave deco connected to the main Deco, and is there any switch in between?

----As for the computer, did it connected to the Wi-Fi of the Deco?

----Which port on the 842 ND is connected to the slave M4, WAN or LAN port?

----For the printer server 842 ND this time, did it still have NAT feature, or any other special settings?

Thanks a lot.

@TP-Link

  1. That's correct.
    1. PC----<wireless>--TL-WR842ND(Pinter server)--printer or
    2. PC----<ethernet>--TL-WR842ND(Pinter server)--printer works like a charm
  2. M4(main)---<wireless>---TL-WR842ND---printer. I cannot connect neither to printer nor web interface of admin panel of TL-WR842ND
    1. No additional switch in between
    2. Computer has access to the WiFi as well as Deco - for example through http://tplinkdeco.net/
    3. 842ND is connected to slave M4 via WAN port. If it matters - ethernet plug from 842ND sits in M4 slave in ethernet socket labeled as '1'.
    4. No special settings - pure OOTB OpenWRT with OOTB p910nd printer server plug in installed - not a single thing was changed (except device name). I can provide other 842ND settings tab if required.
