Model: Archer AX6000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Latest

Hello,

I recently had a Netgear R7000 on a 1000/100 connection and got around 650 - 700 Mbps when testing on fast.com and speedtest.net. Also tested via the android app at multiple times and on different computers at various times.

With the AX6000 I get 340 - 350 Mbps on fast.com. Better results on speedtest.net, but that could just be because of different settings.

Does the AX6000 throttle connections somehow?

It's clear that the AX6000 for some reason is not performing like it should.

Any idea why this would be the case?

Atm no other devices are connected. What are recommended actions to take? Turn on/off WMM?

(There are no interfering devices in this area)

Thanks in advance!

That is correct, you may choose standard mode, ensure there is no device in high priority. Or you may just reset the AX6000 to factory defaults, then reconfigure it to connect to the internet, leave other advanced settings by default, that will also help with this check, thanks.

Some more information:

I get slower results when connecting through the Speedtest desktop app then running it online at speedtest.net.

My guess is that this is because the browser version can use more connections at the same time for some reason.

So, the problem seems to be related to throughput / connection?

Some more input.

It seems that when I disabled the wireless on my Xbox one x, the speed got better overall.

Is this reasonable?

I switched to ethernet on the Xbox and now the whole network is much better.

Is this a known issue?

Thanks!

@Imperatorn

Can you confirm if the QoS on the AX6000 is disabled? Try to disable the QoS, ensure it is on the Standard mode, or simply reset the AX6000 to confirm, thanks.

@Kevin_Z thanks for your reply.

How do I disable QoS? Is it disabled if it's in standard mode?

Thanks
