0 clients!!??

Hi. I'm not very technically minded! How do I know my wifi enabled gadgets (cameras/Alexa/phones etc) are using the range extender? My security cameras seem to have a weak signal (?) regardless if the extender is plugged in or not. According to the app, I have a link from my router (sky) to the extender, but 0 clients from the extender! Should I be concerned??

any help or advice appreciated.

thanks.

@Philg2370

Good day,

Sorry for the delay.

May I know the model number of your range extender?

How about the hardware and firmware version?

Have you tried to change to a different SSID so that you could recognize which one is the extender?

-please go to more>extended network to change the SSID;

Thank you very much.

@TP-Link Hi, the model number is RE220.  Firmware version is 1.0.3 and it says is up to date.

@Philg2370

Thank you very much for your reply.

Would the different SSID between router and RE220 make any difference?

Or you could connect to the different SSID of RE220, but it still showed 0 clients?

By the way, what is the model number of your home router?

Thanks a lot and wait for your reply.

@TP-Link I have absolutely no idea what you're on about!! laugh How would I change SSID, and what actually is an SSID?

The router is, as far as I'm aware, a normal Sky home broadband router, I couldn't see any model number on it.

@Philg2370

Hi,

Thank you very much for your kind reply.

SSID refers to the wireless network name or Wi-Fi name of RE220.

As for how to change the SSID:

1. please go to more>extended network>change the network name to be different from the home router;

2. then connect to the new network name and check the number of online clients again.

Thanks a lot.
