Hi, I just installed a set of 3 Decos as a replacement to the old Google OnHub.

Everything ok, but conected to the local network, I can't resolve other hosts names in the same network. I tried ping, ssh but I can only see the hosts by IP, which is anoying.

Any resolution for this? Such a sofisticated and expensive WiFi solution can't do local DNS resolution as the old Google OnHub did?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

@gabripa

Hi,

Currently, Deco does not support local DNS resolution yet.

There are also several feedbacks already and we have ported to the senior engineers already.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you very much for your understanding and support.

@TP-Link I suggest you change your firmware to use dnsmasq instead of udhcpd and whatever DNS server is built in.

dnsmasq provides proper DNS forwarding as well as DHCP services and proper local DNS registration for clients.

This would solve many of your users complaints, including my own!

FYI: https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/doc.html
