Hi,

I've been using my M5's for about a month quite happily, but now need to configure to remove double NATting.

My Archer VR400 is my VDSL modem and connects via PPPoE to Vodafone (UK). The Deco's are currently set to Dynamic IP (Advanced>IPv4>Connection Type)

Set up is:  Home Devices > Deco M5's > VR400 > VDSL to ISP

I assumed all I needed to do was put my VR400 into Bridge Mode -  (Advanced>Network>Internet>Internet Connections), disable the current PPPoE connection on the VR400 and then change the IPv4 connection type to PPPoE (with the Vodafone username/password) on the Deco app.

Doing this just results in no internet connection.

Am I doing something wrong/changing wrong settings?

Thanks

@TP-Link

thanks for your response.

I added bridge mode to the VR400 and configured the Deco to connect via PPPoE and set the VLAN to 101, Priority 0.

This has successfully removed the double NAT issue with the app reporting a public IP.

However the web admin page for my VR400 has now gone and is not accessible under the previous IP address (192.168.1.1), not is it visible via the Tether app.

I have run

nmap -p 80 192.168.68.0/24

and only the 3 Deco units are showing as open http ports for me to connect to.  How can I now administer my VR400 in bridge mode?

Many thanks!

@Bob_Double

Hi, thanks for your feedback.

Could you please help me check the following information:

  1. After changing the VR400 to bridge modem and setting up PPPoE on the Deco, what is the LED status on the Deco and would there be any internet IP address under the More>advanced>IPV4 on the APP?
  2. Did vodafone need VLAN ID, like VLAN 101  as well for the PPPoE connection?

Thank you very much and wait for your reply.
