Hello,

I'm about to buy a RE650 to replace one of my RE210. I would like to know if High Speed mode is (still) supported by the RE650 firmware. I've downloaded the current RE650 manual and don't see this feature described.

@Antori_91

Hi , thank you very much for your patience.

RE650 v1 does not support high-speed mode, V2 does.

@TP-Link

Thank you for your answer.

I assume the version, you are referring to, is hardware version, correct? I usually buy TP-Link products from the Amazon website. It seems they are still selling RE650 ** V1 ** version (at least for the French amazon site). Unless wait until they sell the V2 version, what else I can do?

Hi, thanks for your reply.

For the RE650 V1, it did not have  the separate high-speed mode but there is a work around to make it work as the high speed mode, such as:

Thank you very much!

@TP-Link

Hello,

I've read this FAQ before I created this message thread. I thought it doesn't apply to the RE650 because the REG50 GUI doesn't allow to disable an extended network (2,4 or 5 Ghz) for a host network connection.

I mean I would like to connect to my router only in the 5 Ghz band and extend this host network only in 2.4 Ghz. So, I assume the following during the setup. First, I skip the host router’s 2.4GHz screen. Then on the next screen, I select my host router’s 5GHz SSID I want to extend. So far so right. But then, on the next screen, It seems there is NO widget to disable the extended 5 GHz SSID (and/or also no widget to enable only an extended 2.4 Ghz SSID). The only widgets I see on this screen is to hide or not the SSID broadcast.

Do I miss something?
