Model: Archer C5400
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.25

I am using a C5400 connected to an ISP modem. I am experiencing dead zone in some parts of the house so I am planning to get Deco to extend my network. With C5400 running on tri-band (2.4Ghz, 5Ghz and 5Ghz), which Deco model has similar speeds and performance?

@tanpanjang

Hi,

Thanks for your patience.

Since the Archer C5400 is still working on the DHCP router, if just using the Deco to extend the Wi-Fi range, access point mode would be much recommended on the Deco in case of double NAT issue;

When Deco works on the access point mode, there are little differences between each model so Deco M4 or M5 would be more competitive on price and performance;

But if you still want to use the Deco as the wireless router, Deco M9 plus, Deco X20, and X60 would be more recommended;

PS: the difference between router mode and access point mode:

Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

@TP-Link

Should I buy the m9 plus or x20? Why? Hope you can answer me based on the C5400 router information I provided. I want to fully utilised and yet future proof my investment.
